PENTICTON - The Penticton RCMP detachment’s top cop will be on hand to hear policing concerns from residents of the South Okanagan and Similkameen next month.
Supt. Ted De Jager will take part in a Town Hall and Community Policing Forum on July 12 at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, according to an RCMP media release.
The forum is open to residents of the South Okanagan and Similkameen, from Princeton to Summerland, and will provide an opportunity for the public to discuss current crime trends, initiatives and policing policies.
“This is an opportunity for residents to have a say in building safety and wellness in our community,” De Jager says in the release.
De Jager will present an outline of the current state of policing in the region and present recent crime statistics for the region in addition to outlining a plan moving forward.
An open mike will be provided following the presentation for members of the public to ask questions and provide feedback.
