PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP are looking for help from the public as the investigation into a hit and run involving a cyclist on Eastside Road last week continues.

The cyclist was left laying on the road, June 5, at around 10:10 p.m., after a passerby called 911 to report a cyclist had been struck on Eastside Road. The victim was taken to hospital suffering from severe non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP say investigators are trying to locate the vehicle and driver who left the scene prior to officers arriving.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a Pontiac Vibe or other Pontiac brand of vehicle with a small honeycomb style of grill, according to an RCMP media release issued today, June 10.

Repair shops with any information about a similar vehicle with frontend damage are encouraged to call the Penticton RCMP.

Anyone who witnessed the collision are also asked to contact the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 and quote file #2019-8747, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
