Penticton RCMP seek information on hit and run

PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP are seeking the public’s help in an investigation into a hit and run on Eastside Road last night.

Penticton RCMP attended a report of a cyclist struck by a vehicle on Eastside Road around 10 p.m. yesterday, June 5.

Penticton RCMP Sgt. Carmen Penney said in media release the driver of the vehicle failed to remain on scene. The 26-year-old cyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver likely sustained front end damage to the vehicle.

A traffic reconstructionist has been called into assist police with their investigation. RCMP are asking for the driver of the vehicle involved and any witnesses to come forward.
