PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP kept the roads safer over the holidays by issuing dozens of driving prohibitions to reckless drivers.

Throughout December, Penticton police targeted impaired and intoxicated drivers, setting up numerous roadblocks and roving patrols, according to an RCMP media release. They issued a total of 28 immediate roadside prohibitions for intoxication over the legal limit.

The Community Safety and Enforcement team issued 16 of those roadside prohibitions, along with five regular driving prohibitions, RCMP say.
