PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP were alerted to a suspicious van parked at Walmart and then waited patiently until they got their man last night.
RCMP Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police received a report of a suspicious van parked in the Walmart parking lot at about 7 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 27.
Police checked it out and found the van had been stolen from Calgary.
They staked out the vehicle and arrested the suspect when he returned.
Wigglesworth says the man, who was wanted on outstanding warrants, was charged with theft over $5,000 and theft under $5,000 after police found stolen items in the van.
He was held in custody for a court appearance today.
