PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP received the assistance of the B.C. Integrated Child Exploitation Unit and the Integrated Technological Crime Unit in executing two separate warrants over a three-day period last week.

Penticton RCMP spokesperson Const. James Grandy says in a press release the detachment’s general investigation section executed two search warrants between Oct. 28 and Nov. 1 in connection to two separate child pornography investigations in the city.

One man was arrested and later release under strict conditions.

The investigations were initiated as a result of information received from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.

"The RCMP takes child exploitation and pornography offences very seriously and will continue to investigate and arrest those who involve themselves in preying on children," Grandy says in the release. "The RCMP works alongside other law enforcement agencies around the globe to help identify those taking part in these kinds of crimes against the vulnerable.”
