Penticton RCMP are looking for a person who is believed to have donated more than was intended to a local store last week.

RCMP are hoping to connect with a woman who brought several clothing items to the Care Closet on Main Street in Penticton between 10 and 11 a.m. on Oct. 16.

The woman, who brought the items in for donation on behalf of an elderly widow, included several clothing items including new dress shirts still in their plastic.

Police spokesperson Const. James Grandy said in a press release issued this morning, Oct. 29, something of “great value” was discovered inside the donated items.

Grandy says it is likely the person dropping the donations off was unaware this item remained inside.

Police are asking the person who dropped off the donation to contact the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 and refer to file 2019-18632.
