PENTICTON - A RCMP officer patrolling the streets of Penticton made them safer last weekend by arresting two impaired drivers and one who was prohibited within two hours.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says the officer working Saturday, Oct. 15, stopped a vehicle at 11:45 p.m. and discovered the driver was prohibited. The vehicle was impounded and the driver given a notice to appear in court.

In the same shift, the officer stopped another vehicle on Lakeshore Drive at 12:50 a.m. and found the driver to be intoxicated, Wrigglesworth says. The driver was also driving contrary to conditions on their driver’s license. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition.

Wrigglesworth says an hour later the constable stopped yet another vehicle on Lakeshore Drive, this time for exceeding the speed limit. The driver was also allegedly impaired and given an Immediate Roadside Prohibition. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
