PENTICTON - Penticton is one month away from playing host to more than 1,700 athletes, coaches and officials for the B.C. Winter Games.
More than 1,225 athletes have registered for the games, coming from every corner of the province, along with 333 coaches and 180 officials.
This will be the fourth time the city has hosted the games. This year 1,800 volunteers will ensure the games run as smoothly as they have in the past.
The B.C. Winter Games have been the starting point for many of the province’s athletes who have progressed further in their sport. More than 50 per cent of Team B.C. athletes at the 2015 Canada Winter Games were B.C. Games alumni, and 18 per cent were part of Team Canada at the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
For details on B.C. Games participants, check out the participant list.
