Penticton motel fire sends one to hospital

Penticton firefighters were called to a blaze at the Ogopogo Motel on Riverside Drive in Penticton this morning, Jan. 6, 2020.

Penticton firefighters knocked down a blaze at a motel this morning.

Deputy fire chief Chris Forester says firefighters received a call to a structure fire on Riverside Drive around 11:15 a.m., Jan.6.

Firefighters arrived to find a single unit at the Ogopogo Motel at 270 Riverside Dr. ablaze. Crews were able to confine the fire to the single unit.

One person was pulled from the unit suffering undetermined injuries and was transported to hospital by B.C. Ambulance personnel.
