PENTICTON - A Penticton man was sentenced today for his involvement in a shooting incident in the city earlier this year.
Harley Maxwell McBride, 36, entered guilty pleas to possessing a restricted firearm and break and enter into a dwelling in Penticton court today.
The charges stem from two shooting incidents that occurred in Penticton in the early morning hours of Jan. 9 this year.
In a joint submission presented to Judge Gregory Koturbash, Crown Prosecutor Kurt Froehlich asked for a sentence of 1,032 days jail time for each offence, to run concurrently.
Defence lawyer Don Skogstad agreed and so did the judge.
The details of the crime are banned from
McBride, who expressed remorse for his crimes, has been in custody since Jan. 9.
He received enhanced credit for time served, at 302 days.
With this morning’s decision he has an additional 730 days new jail time.
He also faces a lifetime weapons ban, forfeiture of weapons used in the incident, and $400 in victim surcharge fines.
Details of his crime cannot be shared because Koturbash banned publication of that evidence to preserve fair trials and process for co-accused.
