Penticton Indian Band structure fire sends one to hospital

PENTICTON - Last night a mobile home was destoyed by a fire near Highway 97.

Crews from Penticton Indian Band Fire Department and Penticton Fire Department rushed to extinguish the flames at Riva Ridge Mobile Home Park last night, Dec. 21, at about 7:44 p.m.

Captain Rob Trupp with Penticton Fire Department says one male occupant left the mobile home with burn injuries. He was taken to hospital.

When crews arrived the fire was venting from three sides of the building. Neighbours were evacuated and their homes singed by the flames, sustained minor damages. 

Crews did a defensive attack, but the mobile home was completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Penticton Indian Band Fire department arrived with two apparatuses, and Penticton Fire Department came with two engines.
