PENTICTON – More than 130,000 people have seen a video of a Penticton store employee telling a group of women to “go back to the res(ervation).”

Nanda Sangwais posted the profanity-laced video Monday, in which the employee is seen arguing with a group of women. One of them accuses the clerk of assault.

"You know what, why don't you go back to the res," the clerk responds. "Where you belong."

The post has already been shared 1,700 times with 131,000 views.

Comments are divided, with some showing support for the girls and others saying the women trashed the store.

An employee at the Penticton Dollarama on Main Street referred all questions to corporate head office.

"Dollarama is aware of this incident and took immediate measures to address it," Lyla Radmanovich says in an email. "The behaviour depicted in the video is inconsistent with our nationwide customer service policy, which aims to promote a discrimination-free environment, and according to which, all employees are required to treat customers with respect at all times, regardless of race, creed, age, gender or disability."

"I can also confirm the employee is no longer with the company," Radmanovich says.
