PENTICTON - A lottery ticket purchased at Penticton’s Cherry Lane Shopping Centre let a local couple keep the celebration going the day after Christmas.

Lindsay Slobodzian and Grzegroz Slobodzian checked their lottery ticket while Boxing Day shopping, Dec. 26, just an hour before hosting a family get together, and found out they won one of Lotto Max's million dollar prizes from the $60-million draw.

“We kept checking the ticket over and over because we couldn’t believe we won and it wasn’t until we looked up the winning numbers online that we confirmed we really were winners,” Grzegroz says.

The couple plans to use the money to pay off their mortgage and keep it as a rainy day fund for ‘the little things that come up'.
