PEMBERTON, B.C. - Police are investigating a suspicious death at the Pemberton Music Festival, north of Vancouver.

Members of B.C.'s Integrated Homicide Investigations Team cordoned off an area near a row of portable toilets after the death late Friday.

Police set up a trailer at the scene, but said it would likely be sometime Saturday before they released any details of the investigation.

Police say they identified the dead person but are not releasing his name until family members are notified.

Festival organizers Huka Entertainment said its staff was working with Pemberton fire and rescue to help out campers who were forced to move their tents because of the investigation.

As police went about their work Friday night the band Nine Inch Nails played on in the background.

This year's festival features nearly 100 bands, with thousands of people attending.

The new organizers from New Orleans spent millions on improvements after the last Pemberton Music Festival in 2008 was marred by traffic jams, irritating dust and filthy portable toilets.
