Pedestrian struck and killed on Trans-Canada in Kamloops

A pedestrian in his 40s was struck by a vehicle and killed on the Trans-Canada Highway Sunday night in Kamloops and RCMP investigators are looking for witnesses and dash cam video.

Officers were called at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, to a crash involving a pedestrian in the 1700 block of East Trans-Canada Highway, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Nov. 16.

When police arrived at the scene, firefighters and ambulance paramedics were performing live-saving efforts on the pedestrian.

The man was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, RCMP said.

Police say at this time no criminality is suspected.

Both RCMP and B.C. Coroners Service are investigating.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or captured any related dash cam footage, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2021-39922.
