WEST KELOWNA - A pedestrian is in hospital after an odd two-vehicle crash in West Kelowna Monday night.

Police say the incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m., May 16, at the intersection of Highway 97 and Old Okanagan Highway. A black Mercedes GLK35 and a blue Ford F-150 collided causing one of the vehicles to spin out of control, according to a Kelowna RCMP release. A pedestrian, a 29-year-old West Kelowna man, was unconscious and rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The release wasn't specific about the injuries or condition.

"The drivers of both vehicles involved in the collision remained at the scene and are co-operating with the investigation," RCMP spokesperson Const. Jesse O'Donaghey says. "A collision re-constructionist was called to the scene and the investigation is ongoing which will include a full mechanical inspection of the Ford F-150."

If you witnessed this crash and have not yet spoken to police you are asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880. Or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
