Pedestrian killed in Kamloops crash

A 54-year-old woman was pronounced dead on scene after being struck by a truck in Kamloops Friday evening.

Sgt. Jeff Bingley, with the Kamloops RCMP, said the accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 near the intersection of McGill Road and University Drive.

"The collision between a truck and a pedestrian necessitated the closure of the roadways into the area for over six hours to allow police to investigate the accident," Bingley said in a release.

The driver of the truck remained on scene and was later brought to the RCMP detachment.

Bingley did not say if any charges will be laid.
