A Kelowna woman was killed by a commercial truck while crossing the street earlier today.
The 27-year-old was taken to Kelowna General Hospital from the Harvey Avenue crosswalk earlier today but she didn't survive the collision.
Kelowna RCMP said she was crossing northbound against the crosswalk sign. She was hit by a loaded semi-truck and trailer in the westbound HOV lane, according to a news release.
Kelowna RCMP didn't say what time she was hit but police alerted the public of the Gordon Drive and Harvey Avenue collision around 10:30 a.m. today, Feb. 17.
The highway has reopened and the B.C. Coroner's Service has taken conduct of the investigation, RCMP said.
