A service change to the Penticton to Kelowna bus route will see a new stop added in Peachland.
B.C.Transit and the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen announced the change yesterday, Dec. 17. The new stop goes into effect on Jan. 4, 2021.
The new service to Peachland will be funded by the RDOS and the District of Peachland.
Peachland residents will now have direct access to Penticton through the route 70 service, which consist of one round trip on the Penticton to Kelowna run Tuesday through Friday with an additional round trip also operating on Mondays.
The service leaves Cherry Lane Mall at Atkinson Street and Warren Avenue at 6:03 a.m., arriving at the Kelowna Queensway Exchange at 7:40 a.m. It departs Kelowna Queensway at 5:10 p.m., arriving back in Penticton at Wade Avenue and Martin Street at 6:11 p.m. The additional Monday round trip leaves Cherry Lane at 9:08 a.m., arriving at Kelowna Queensway at 10:35 a.m.
