Peachland mural hit by vandals again

Peachland residents are in disbelief after finding their newly restored downtown Rotary mural defaced again.

Six members of Peachland's arts council spent 178 hours restoring the mural this summer. Then, in October, it was hit by vandals with less than passable artistic abilities.

Luckily, however, they were able to clean away the damage.

"We’re now at the stage where a lot of the paint has been scrubbed off," a member of the council, said earlier this month. "We will have to wait until spring to repaint and then put on an anti-graffiti coating — we were going to do it sooner but the weather turned on us."

Yesterday, Nov. 27, the mural was found tagged with similar markings.

"The tags include question marks placed over the same spots recently re-painted, an Ogopogo and other random marks/pictures," reads a Crime Stoppers report.
