Peach City Radio concluding a progressive year

Peach City Radio Society is wrapping up a progressive year with its Annual General Meeting slated for Tuesday, Nov.3 starting at 5:30 p.m.in the Penticton Library auditorium.

PENTICTON - Peach City Radio is completing an exceptional year and making plans for next year as the society gets ready to host its annual general meeting next month.

The non-profit society has been working to build a unique, community based radio broadcasting initiative in Penticton and 2015 has been a busy one for Peach City Radio, with the society being approved for its low power FM broadcast application.

Radio personality Chris Walker, current host of Daybreak South on CBC radio, will speak at the meeting, which takes place Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Penticton Museum-Library auditorium. Walker will be speaking about the impact community radio can have on Penticton.

For persons interested in renewing or becoming a member, registration opens at 5:30 p.m. Walker will speak at 6 p.m., followed by the annual meeting at 7 p.m.

Anyone interested in getting involved in the radio project is encouraged to attend the meeting. Peach City Radio has volunteer opportunities for those interested in becoming a radio show host, programming. promotion and fundraising.
