PENTICTON - Parkers Chrysler is thrilled to announce that it raised $7,400 during their December Fundraiser for Pathways Addictions Resource Centre.

The fundraising effort was memory of Colin Parker, the late son of Parker’s owner Janet Parker, who passed away in early October, 2016.  During the Fundraiser, Parkers committed $100 for every vehicle sold and $10 for every oil change service during the month of December to Pathways Addictions Resource Centre.

“Pathways is honoured to receive the incredible donation from Parkers.   Over the past 6 months, because of the overdose crisis, Pathways has been dealing with a significant increase in calls from people who have lost a loved one due to substance use asking if there are any programs available to deal with their grief and loss.   With this generous donation from Parkers to Pathways, we will now be able to offer a series of Grief and Loss groups throughout 2017 with the first one starting in February," said Pathways Agency Director Daryl Meyers.

"We are overwhelmed by the response from our community and Parkers’ staff to the fundraiser and want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped us raise money for Pathways” states Jim Tabler, General Manager of Parkers.  “In fact, we had community members coming in to the dealership specifically as they were touched by Colin’s passing and wanted to help raise money for Pathways” he continues.  “We know we have significant outreach in Penticton and it’s very rewarding to be able to put it to good use for causes that impact the community we work in” added Tabler.

“Colin was a very generous man and I know he would be very happy to know how Penticton embraced the Fundraiser for Pathways” said Janet Parker.

Family owned and operated, Parkers Chrysler has been operating in Penticton since 1945.  More information can be found at www.parkerschrylser.com.
