Paddle wheeler tourist attraction goes under… water that is

The paddle wheeler Spirit of Kelowna has partially sunk in Okanagan Lake. It went aground on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013.

KELOWNA – A paddle wheeler that has been only plying the water of Okanagan Lake for past two tourist seasons has sunk.

The Spirit of Kelowna is partially underwater near Kalamoir Regional Park on the West Kelowna side of the lake.

The boat was launched in June of 2012.

Spirit of Kelowna Tours had been taking visitors on historical-themed tours on Okanagan Lake. It was able to accommodate 75 passengers.

It may have broken free of its moorings, drifted and run aground.
