OSOYOOS - Quick action by Osoyoos firefighters prevented the spread of a house fire last night.
Osoyoos fire chief Rick Jones says they were able to jump on the fire quickly, after receiving a call from dispatch around 9:55 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 23.
He said the fire was confined to the basement of the Osprey Place home.
“Our response time was great, we got on it right away, and saved the house,” Jones says, adding there was smoke and water damage after a water pipe melted.
Jones says cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
No injuries were reported.
