Osoyoos assault victim succumbs to injuries

BC Coroners service is investigating after an Osoyoos woman died of injuries suffered in an assault in that community on April 8, 2020.

The BC Coroners Service says an Osoyoos woman who was attacked last week succumbed to her injuries.

Osoyoos RCMP was called to a residence in a golf course subdivision around 11 p.m. April 8 to find a 61-year-old woman had been assaulted.

The woman was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since died.

Roderick Ashley Flavell, 62, was identified as the alleged attacker by police. They say the two parties knew one another.

He was facing charges of aggravated assault last week.

The BC Coroners Service says its office is in the early stages of an investigation with no further details available at this time.
