Osoyoos RCMP arrested the suspect of a serious assault that put a woman in the hospital.

Mounties were called to a residence in a golf course subdivision last night, April 8, around 11 p.m., on a call of a woman in need of possible medical attention.

Officers attending the home found a 60-year-old woman suffering from obvious trauma, police spokesperson Sgt. Jason Bayda said in a press release issued today.

The victim was transported to the hospital where she remains in critical condition.

A 62-year-old Osoyoos man who police have identified as Roderick Ashley Flavell is in custody and has been charged with aggravated assault.

“Both parties were known to one another, police believe this was an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the public,” Bayda says.
