Some facts about child abductions in Canada

TORONTO - More than 42,000 children were reported missing across Canada last year. By the numbers:

27: Abducted by strangers

31,000: Runaways

58%: Female

73%: Runaways

62%: Cases resolved in 24 hours

92%: Cases resolved within a week
