The number of COVID cases in the Interior Health region continue at a fairly low rate with 50 recorded in the last 24 hours.

That’s up slightly from the 39 yesterday but an improvement from recent weeks when daily counts were well above 100.

In B.C. there were 324 new cases, down from 338 the day before, according to information released by the Ministry of Health today, Nov. 17.

There were 108 new cases in Fraser Health, 73 in Northern Health, 60 in Vancouver Coastal and 33 on Vancouver Island.

There were seven more deaths but none in the Interior Health region, bringing the pandemic total to 2,281.

The vaccination rate, for the third day in a row, remained at 90.7% for those aged 12 and over having at least one dose. The number of fully vaccinated people edged up slightly to 86.9% from 86.8%.

Of the new cases from Nov. 9 to 15, 56% were in people with no vaccination, 4.8% for those with one dose and 39.2% of those with two doses.
