Kamloops RCMP seized vehicles, cash, weapons and drugs after executing a search warrant last week.
The investigation began in January, resulting in a search at a Batchelor Heights home on May 3, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.
“The seizures associated with this investigation tie directly into our strategic priorities to target drug traffickers and those who use firearms and violence, compromising the safety of our communities," Kamloops RCMP Supt. Jeff Pelley said in the release.
Police arrested one man at the Stagecoach Drive home. They seized two handguns, two tasers, thousands of dollars in cash and two vehicles.
“We expect this effort to have significant impacts and disruptions on the local drug trade. The names of those arrested will be released when the investigation is concluded and any anticipated charge approvals are received," Supt. Pelley said.
The detachment's Targeted Enforcement Unit also seized 4.5 kilograms of various drugs, including three kilograms of fentanyl, one of cocaine and 550 grams of methamphetamine.
Sgt. Todd Woon said his unit focuses on local drug traffickers associated with the "highest levels of violence and risk to public safety."
“The presence of over 30,000 doses of fentanyl in this residence posed a significant risk to public safety, not only through the potential of overdoses, but also due to the gun violence this type of activity brings to the community," he said.
No one has been charged yet.
