LONDON - Canada's Tonya Verbeek could not prevent Saori Yoshida from winning her third straight Olympic wrestling title.
Verbeek will go home with a silver medal after losing to the Japanese star in the 55-kilogram final at the London Games.
The Canadian has reached the Olympic podium at the last three Games but has yet to win gold.
Verbeek, from Thorold, Ont., is winless in nine career meetings against Yoshida.
Verbeek won Olympic bronze in Beijing four years ago and took the silver at the 2004 Games in Athens.
The other Canadian in action, Calgary's Leah Callahan, lost her opening bout in the 72-kilo division and was later eliminated.
