VERNON - The general manager of O’Keefe Ranch is taking time off to recover from a workplace accident.
In a release, the ranch says Taylor — who is also a Coldstream councillor — will be “out of commission for a while and his return date is unknown.”
“His absence from the ranch will be missed during Field of Screams, an annual fundraising event for the ranch of which he plays an integral role. If anyone would like to offer assistance to the Ranch, volunteers for the event are needed,” marketing and events coordinator Kelly MacIntosh says in the release.
The ranch has not commented on the accident itself, but Global Okanagan reports Taylor was struck by a barrel while transporting it on a tractor at the ranch.
Efforts to reach Coldstream mayor Jim Garlick have not been successful.
“Everyone at the Ranch wishes Glen a quick recovery,” MacIntosh says. “We are optimistic that he will be back at the Ranch as soon as he is able. We would all appreciate the support of the community through volunteerism at our fundraising events this month.”
