Okanagan Sun players in the running to play for B.C. Lions

The B.C. Lions Football Club announced in November 2012 that junior defensive lineman Steven Doege, receiver Bobby Davis and kicker Steve Shott have been signed by the team and will attend training camp this coming week. All three played for the Okanagan Sun of the BCFC in 2012.

Doege is attending his second Lions training camp this year after making a significant impression last June and earning a practice roster spot with the Lions in 2012. The hulking defensive lineman enjoyed another CJFL All-Star campaign for the Sun notching 34 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Davis was a mid-season addition to the practice roster by the Lions but he continued to tear it up for his hometown Sun on weekends. The speedy receiver recorded 32 receptions for 523 yards and three touchdowns last season and this is his first Lions training camp.

Shott had his first taste of a pro camp two years ago as a junior invitee to Lions rookie camp. The Vancouver native battled through injuries in 2012 and returned to action for the Sun this past October for his final year of eligibility.
