KELOWNA - Inspiring tastes, tantalizing wine pairings and an opportunity to shop for delectable finds awaits you at the third annual Okanagan Eats Food Show in Kelowna.
The Kelowna Curling Club will be transformed into a food and wine lover’s dream on April 26 and 27. From wines to fermented foods, healthy drinks and tasty treats, your taste buds will be jumping from booth to booth, and from bite to bite. You may even find some food sensations you didn’t realized you loved.
Participants can discover delicious tastes at a variety of vendors and restaurants on a token system, according to an Okanagan Eats Food Show media release. Tokens can also be used to sip refreshments from a large selection of wineries, breweries and distilleries.
Products can also be purchased from local growers, bakers, food artists and creators in the market section. Once you’ve savoured all you can, you can enjoy one of the many demonstrations and competitions on the cooking stage while sipping a refreshment in the beer garden.
Trevor Bird is the featured special guest chef this year. You’ll be dazzled by his knowledge and skills.
From his teenage years as an excited chef-in-the-making who was obsessed with learning and working with ingredients, to years of bringing excellence to kitchens such as Ottawa’s National Arts Centre, Jean George’s MARKET and Daniel Boulud’s Lumiere, due to his work ethic and truly original expressions of creativity, Bird has risen to his purpose and passion, the media release states.
The Okanagan’s largest food and beverage show, Okanagan Eats supports the Central Okanagan Food Bank. Everyone is asked to please bring a non-perishable food item to the show. With each donation you will be entered to win a prize valued at $300. The more items you bring, the more entries you’ll receive.
