Okanagan buses not immune to icy road conditions

A bus became stuck in the snow Jan. 18, when it tried to stop at a West Kelowna bus stop.

Drivers may want to stay off the roads this morning as conditions are still icy.

One bus driver got stuck at a bus stop along Highway 97 in West Kelowna.

The driver said snow plows left a large amount of snow in the bus lane.

Highway alerts are in effect for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt and on Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass.

Periods of snow are expected throughout the Thompson-Okanagan region Saturday, Jan. 18, according to Environment Canada.
