An entrepreneur in Lake Country will see her beauty products in gift bags at the Emmy Awards this year.
Andrea Barone is the owner of Crystal Hills Organics, a small company that makes organic beauty products by hand.
“Everything I make is infused with crushed crystals and I use as many organic materials as possible,” she said. “The salts I use are ethically sourced.”
Earlier this year Barone was contacted by Backstage Creations, the company that makes the gift bags that are handed out to celebrities and event organizers at Emmy Award ceremonies.
They wanted to add her Crystal Dreams Bath Salts to the swag bags.
“She thought the bath salts would be a great fit coming from my line that is about manifesting Zen, calmness and peace, and helping people track their dreams,” Barone said.
The product then went through five to seven departments for approvals.
In the past, Barone’s products have been in Grammy bags, in a Mother’s Day event in Hollywood and in the Festival Trend Bags for Coachella.
“I think once you are on the list you get offered more opportunities,” she said.
Barone started the company in 2017 and continues to see success.
“I make a luxury high end product that still has a nice hippy vibe,” she said. “I make everything by hand and do get part time help here in a pretty lab space above my garage."
Barone makes bath salts, body serums, self-love kits and this year is offering wish bracelets. Each product comes with affirmations to help customers set their intentions and manifest their futures.
The crystals are brought in from various places, including Brazil.
“I feel really good and excited and I think it is an honour to be asked to go in the Emmy bags, it makes me feel good when people reach out to me.
“I enjoy promoting health conscious life styles and the healing powers of nature. It is all about intentional beauty.”
Crystal Hills brand can be found online and at The Green Vanity and The Handmade Shoppe in Kelowna or at COBIA Beauty in Kamloops.
The Emmys are scheduled for Monday, Sept. 12, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific Time.
