Man sentenced for abusing wife, involvement in big drug ring

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - A man has pleaded guilty to abusing his wife and being involved in one of central New York's biggest drug operations.

The Post-Standard reports William Sullivan, of DeWitt, pleaded guilty Wednesday in a Syracuse court to cocaine and abuse charges stemming from his arrest in November 2017.

The 39-year-old Sullivan was arrested after his wife said he had tied her up with duct-tape in a cardboard box and threatened to stab her to death with a folding knife.

After his arrest Sullivan told police about an impending drug shipment. Authorities later seized more than $3 million worth of cocaine and hundreds of pounds of marijuana from Sullivan's suburban Syracuse home and a residence he rented in the city.

He faces 18 years in prison. Federal drug charges against him are still pending.
