Not a lot of sunshine forecast this week in Kamloops

Sunny skies will give way to clouds in Kamloops this afternoon before clearing Wednesday, but after that look for more clouds and showers for the remainder of the week.

PENTICTON - It’s not going to be too summery of a start to July for Kamloops residents, as the week ahead offers a mix of wet weather conditions.

“The best day looks like tomorrow. As we get into Thursday, another trough moves through, with showers and unsettled conditions expected into Sunday,” Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says.

Sekhon says thundershowers can also be expected with the unsettled conditions later this week.

Today in Kamloops,  expect some clouds with a 40 per cent chance of showers early, then a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 27 C.

Winds are expected from the west at 30 km/h, diminishing by evening.

Wednesday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 29 C and a low of 17 C. Showers are expected to move on Wednesday night.

The rain is expected to continue through Thursday with a  high of only 19 C.

Showers are forecast through Thursday night, with cloudy skies prevailing on Friday.

Friday’s high is expected to be 25 C, with an overnight low of 15 C and a 30 per cent chance of showers.

Saturday a mix of sun and clouds and a high of 28 C is anticipated, with a 60 per cent chance of showers and cloudy conditions returning Sunday.

Kamloops normally experiences an average high of 27 C and a low of 13 C.
