On the one-year anniversary of the murder of a 27-year-old Whitehorse woman in the North Okanagan, RCMP investigators have released new photos and renewed the call for new information in the case.

The body of Erin Chelsea Borgford, 27, of Whitehorse was found in a burning 2014 Nissan Rogue in the North Okanagan during the early hours of Sept. 20, 2021.

Firefighters arrived on site at Louis Estates Road, just off Westside Road, and made the grizzly discovery after extinguishing the fire.

“This week marks the anniversary of the discovery of Erin’s remains. While the investigation remains active and on-going and a continued priority for the officers investigating her death, they continue to seek more information,” B.C. RCMP Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in the release.

“We are releasing two new photos of the burned out vehicle that Erin’s remains were discovered in, in the hopes that it may jog someone’s memory and to encourage those who have information to come and speak with police.”
