ARMSTRONG - Police are canvassing for information after a young Armstrong boy was offered a ride home from a stranger.
On Thursday, Feb. 16, around 3 p.m., police were notified that a 10-year-old boy walking home from school near Wolfenden Terrace in Armstrong was approached by a man in a black SUV and offered a ride, Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says.
“The boy declined, and the man drove away towards Rosedale Avenue,” Noseworthy says.
The vehicle is described as a smaller black SUV. Noseworthy says police would like to speak with the man, who was described as having dark brown hair and glasses. The boy told police he did not recognize the man.
Police are not aware of any other similar incidents. Armstrong Elementary School posted a notice on its Facebook page following the incident.
