There was an exchange of gunfire Saturday night between two suspect vehicles near a Kamloops residence known to police.

Kamloops RCMP received a report oft multiple gunshots in the 100-block of Oak Road around 7:26 a.m. on Oct. 19, according to a press release from police.

When officers arrived on the scene they confirmed the gunshots, but no one had been hit.

The two cars fled north on Tranquille Road. One vehicle was a green four-door sedan and the other was a small white four-door car.

“The investigation indicates this was targeted,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy said in the release. “Incidents such as this pose a danger to everyone in the community, and we’re doing everything we can to identify them.”

RCMP have released surveillance footage images of the suspect vehicles in the hope that someone can identify them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2024-34681.
