KELOWNA – Across the city pubs, bars and restaurants will host parties to celebrate the start of a new year but none will be as large as Kelowna’s annual New York New Year’s Eve.
This annual celebration happens downtown at Stuart Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 31.
The free event attracts close to 5,000 people every year and includes live music, kids’ games, ice skating, warm drinks and snacks followed by a fireworks display starting at 9 p.m.
New this year is a Kid’s “Snow Zone” with snowball toss and drop-in games as well as several food trucks.
There will also be free hot chocolate and giveaways all night.
Big White Ski Resort is also holding a New Year's Eve party at Happy Village. With a mini carnival for the kids, live music, food and drinks, this family friendly event has something for everyone.
Fireworks launch at 8:15 p.m. over the skating rink.
