A new wildfire discovered this morning is burning on Penticton Indian Band land.
The wildfire is 0.2 hectares in size and there are three B.C. Wildfire Service personnel on site, said fire information officer Aydan Coray.
The Sn'pinktn Emergency Operations Centre is reporting firefighters are in mop up stages and no structures are being threatened. Crews from the Penticton Indian Band Fire Department along with Penticton Fire Department are on scene.
The wildfire is located near the KVR Trail on band land.
Coray described it as “burning brush fire” and she did not have any indication of the fire’s cause at this time, Coray said.
Conditions are still dry in the South Okanagan, she said.
