PENTICTON - Tinhorn Creek Winery’s 2016 concert series gets underway Saturday evening with The Pernell Reichert Band.
The Vancouver based singer, songwriter and guitarist performs original renderings about life on the road in a high energy, fast finger paced style. Gates at the winery’s amphitheatre open at 7 p.m., May 28. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for students.
The Penticton Fire Department is hosting a Fire Smart information session on Sunday, May 29 at Sendero Canyon, getting underway at 12 noon.
Penticton Fire Chief Larry Watkinson welcomes the community of Sendero Canyon and other residents living in wildfire interface zones to attend the session, which provides valuable information for homeowners to make their properties fire safe. The City of Penticton is one of the first communities in B.C. to deliver this program, put together by FireSmart Canada and Valhalla Consulting.
Bike to Work Week takes place next week from May 30 to June 5 in the Peach City. It’s the eighth year of the Penticton ride, with organizers hoping to attract 700 or more riders this year.
