A man is facing multiple charges after police responded to a small fire in a downtown Kamloops alley earlier this week.

Officers were called to the 200-block of Victoria Street in Kamloops on Tuesday, Nov. 18, where a man with a small fire beside him refused to leave the alleyway, according to an RCMP news release.

Police say he was breaching release conditions and took the suspect into custody.

Keghan Samuel Cosh, 39, is facing two charges for breaching probation and one for breaching a release order.

RCMP said he also faces several weapons charges including possess of prohibited explosives.

He was released from custody and has a court appearance scheduled for Nov. 25.
