PENTICTON - Several prolific offenders were arrested last week by the RCMP in the South Okanagan including one man with several outstanding warrants who unsuccessfully tried to flee from police in Okanagan Falls.

RCMP say Jeremy Hargreaves, 39, was spotted driving along Maple Street on Jan. 3 by officers from the Targeted Enforcement Unit.

The suspect allegedly rammed his vehicle into a police cruiser and then side-swiped another police car when officers tried to pull him over, according to an RCMP media release. Hargreaves then crashed into a nearby fence and began running on foot but was arrested by officers shortly after. He faces a number of charges including assaulting police and flight from police.

Police also arrested a woman on outstanding warrants in Summerland for failing to comply with her probation order on Jan. 2.

Also on Jan. 2, police arrested Bradley Thompson, 46, on outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court. While being searched for his arrest, police found cocaine and methamphetamine. Police have forwarded controlled substances and breaching his recognizance charges to the B.C. Prosecution Service.

RCMP don't say where Thompson was arrested.

“The Targeted Enforcement Unit continues their focus on those in our community who pose the highest risk to public safety, and the few offenders who commit the majority of property and drug-related offences," Penticton RCMP spokesperson Const. James Grandy says in the release.
