Montreal police are investigating after the body of a man was found in the trunk of a torched car in the city's east end Saturday night.

Police say they received a call around 12:25 a.m. about a car that was set on fire in a park.

The body of a man, whose identity has not yet been released, was discovered after firefighters extinguished the flames.

Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant says an autopsy will be performed to identify the man.

Police are still trying to determine the exact cause of the fire.
