Motorcyclist in critical condition after Vernon crash

A 52-year-old Vernon man is in hospital in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 in Vernon yesterday.

Police received a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a passenger car at approximately 3:45 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 22, at the intersection of Highway 97 and Highland Road at the north end of Swan Lake, according to an RCMP media release.

The motorcyclist was making a left hand turn across Highway 97 traffic onto Highland Road and was hit by a southbound car, RCMP said.

The 52-year-old man riding the motorcycle was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Police continue to investigate the collision.
