As the Christmas season rolls around, an empty seat at the table can be a sombre reminder for families who are missing a loved one. The Shtukas are one of those families.
Heather Shtuka has been searching for her son Ryan since he went missing while walking home from a house party at Sun Peaks near Kamloops on Feb. 17, 2018. He hasn't been seen since, despite countless efforts by his family and volunteers who have searched the area. The last search of the year for Ryan took place on Oct. 19.
Heather has posted a video to Facebook with photos of the whole family together for the holidays.

“Ryan is loved and missed by many near and far, thousands of whom have never met him, but none more so than his family,” reads a line from the Facebook video. “A thousand memories, a thousand wishes, and every one of them include you. We will wait forever and a day for you to come home.”
At the end of the video, watchers are encouraged to help join the search by joining this Facebook group or by leaving an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
