Family of Ryan Shtuka geared up for last Sun Peaks search of 2019

FILE PHOTO - The parents of Ryan Shtuka, Heather and Scott, speak to media on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, to mark the anniversary of their son's disappearance.

Volunteers will be gathering on Saturday in Sun Peaks for the last organized search for 20-year-old Ryan Shtuka.

The Alberta man vanished on Feb. 17, 2018, after leaving a house party in the Burfield Drive area of Sun Peaks.

He hasn't been seen despite countless efforts by family and volunteers who have searched the area since he went missing.

His mother Heather says this Saturday will be the last large organized search of the year.

Volunteer searchers, some who are coming from Alberta and other parts of B.C., are asked to meet at the 5Forty Cafe & Deli at the Sun Peaks Grand Conference Centre, 3190 Creekside Way, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.
